‘Low Carb Sydney 2026’ will take place at the PARKROYAL Hotel Parramatta
from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th of October.

 

The event will start at 12:00pm on Friday, followed by welcome drinks at 6:00pm.

 

The program will continue on Saturday from 8:00am until 5:00pm,
followed by an optional Gala Dinner.

 

Re-commencing at 8:00am on Sunday, the conference will conclude at 5:00pm.

 

A delicious low carb lunch will be provided on Saturday as well as tea and coffee
in the breaks throughout the conference.

The cost should be $270 per night which includes breakfast. You can book any nights from Thursday 15th to leaving on Monday 19th of October.

We are live-streaming this event which will help get the presentations out to a wider audience. Livestream also offers additional benefit for in person attendees who can re-watch the presentations at any time following the meeting with no additional cost. The talks will also be edited and released on the LCDU YouTube channel in the months following the event.

PRESENTER INFORMATION

Dr David Unwin
Dr. David Unwin is an award-winning UK general practitioner renowned for pioneering the low-carb approach to medicine. He is best known for helping hundreds of patients put Type 2 diabetes into drug-free remission through dietary changes rather than lifelong medication.

Dr. Jen Unwin is a clinical health psychologist who has worked for over 30 years in the NHS. Along with her GP husband David she has worked to help patients with Type 2 diabetes to achieve remission and together they have spoken about this all over the world.

Dr. Glen Davies is a GP specialist with dual fellowships in both general practice and lifestyle medicine. He works at Reversal NZ, Taupo, New Zealand and is a passionate advocate of lifestyle approaches to reversing chronic disease.

Dr. Marcus Hawkins is an Auckland GP and strong advocate for Therapeutic Carbohydrate Reduction as a means to improve/reverse a number of important conditions – obesity, Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, fatty liver and polycystic ovarian syndrome. He has just written an excellent book called “The Fat Fix”.
Jamie Hayes is a fitness industry professional and nutrition educator since 1981. Co-founder of Low Carb Down Under and founder of Healthy Inspirations and Dietflex.

Dr. Paul Mason is a sports and exercise medicine physician with an in-depth knowledge of nutritional science. Paul regularly presents his knowledge in lectures, challenging conventional wisdom in clinical practice where he treats the general public and elite athletes.

Lee Liao is a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney’s School of Medicine. Her doctoral research examines the relationship between diet and heart failure and includes a clinical trial investigating the ketogenic diet in heart failure patients.

Dr. Denholm Crone is a retired New Zealand Intensive Care Specialist and Anaesthetist. He is a past recipient of the Sir David Hay Medal, New Zealand’s highest honour for contributions to resuscitation and emergency care.
Graham Phillips is a registered UK pharmacist and Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. He has styled himself as ‘The Pharmacist who Gave Up Drugs’. His project ProLongevity combines lifestyle interventions and de-prescribing.
Chris Rewi is an Auckland-based podiatrist specialising in diabetic foot care, general podiatry, and custom orthotics. He holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Podiatric Medicine from the Auckland University of Technology.
Dr. Penny Figtree is a Port Macquarie GP and lecturer specialising in metabolic health and Therapeutic Carbohydrate Reduction. With over 20 years of clinical experience, she has spent the past eight years using very low-carbohydrate ketogenic diets to treat various metabolic conditions.
Dr. Ron Schweitzer is a Victorian GP and a former lecturer at the Monash University for undergraduate medical students in the Department of General Practice. Dr Schweitzer practices all aspects of general practice. His major area of interest is in the low carbohydrate, healthy fat (LCHF) eating approach.
Dr. Max Gulhane is a practising family medicine MD in Bangalow NSW. He is a health-optimising doctor with a passion for root-cause analysis of human chronic disease and longevity.
Dr. David Jehring is a former GP and Chair of the Public Health Collaboration UK. He is an AI expert and founder of Blackpear. David designed the first Windows GP clinical systems in the UK.
Dr. Tro Kalayjian is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine, as well as a founding member of the Society of Metabolic Health Practitioners.
Dr. Peter Brukner is a world-renowned sports medicine doctor who believes that dietary guidelines are responsible for the current epidemic of diabetes and obesity. He has authored a popular book on nutrition (A Fat Lot of Good), and is the founder of both the SugarByHalf campaign and Defeat Diabetes.
Prof. Caryn Zinn is an author, registered dietitian and internationally recognised leader and advocate of the whole food, therapeutic carbohydrate reduction nutrition and lifestyle approach and its application to metabolic health and sports performance.
Dr. Alex Petrushevski is a GP who works in general practice and with Sydney Low Carb Specialists, focusing on preventive health and supporting patients in managing chronic disease through lifestyle changes, including low-carbohydrate nutrition.
Tomer Pappe is a certified Personal Trainer and Clinical Nutritionist who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 11. Through personal experience and detailed research he now maintains non-diabetic blood sugar levels.
Dr. Anthony Chaffee is a medical doctor who has researched optimal nutrition for human performance and health. It is his assertion that most of the so-called chronic diseases we treat are caused by the food we eat, or don’t eat, and can be improved, and in some cases even reversed, with dietary changes to a species specific diet.
Dr. Ashley Wallin is a General Practitioner based in Cairns with a distinct background in both military service and metabolic health. He specialises in health optimisation, obesity treatment, and the reversal of chronic disease using low-carbohydrate diets and lifestyle interventions.
