Food Consumption and the Actual Statistics Of Cardiovascular Diseases

This ecological study published on the 27th September 2016 in Food & Nutrition Research Journal aimed to identify the main nutritional factors related to the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases in 42 European countries. The study results found no association between CVDs and saturated fat. Instead, they agree with data accumulated from recent studies that link CVD risk with the high glycaemic index/load of carbohydrate-based diets.
